Not actually a purchase, but I just received the news that I was selected as the winner of a facebook contest to win a free 5pack of Parodi Cherry-Vanilla.

The cherry-vanilla isn't my favorite from Parodi, but it's still decent enough to smoke, and free is my favorite price!

Don Carlos Robusto, Camacho Select Suoer Robusto, Camacho SLR Perfecto #1 Maduro, and Camacho Connecticuts.

This is the first time I've brought myself to buy the Connecticuts since they changed the bands.

The facebook contest worded it as "a five pack box."

I assumed it would be a five pack in a box (as fivepacks come)

Instead, I received a five pack box in the sense of a box of five packs.

The picture is blurry, but the content isnt exciting enough to take a new one. Still, the point is I was happy, thinking I'd get 5 free cigars. Instead I got 50 :)

I just placed an order. For the third time, taking my chances with a bundle of A.J. Fernandez overruns. Both bundles I have had in the past couldn't have been more different from each other...one Man o War Virtue in a large format, and one was Puro Authentico, in a delicate little corona...the first mild and smooth, the second a tiny powerhouse of flavor, spice, and nicotine. Both looked and smoked just like firsts, but without bands and super cheap. So, I'm placing an order for a bundle of "small figurados." Expecting good things. That plus a pouch of Skandanavik regular and cheap shipping, and I'm getting away at about 44 bucks. Not too shabs

Was lucky to find this box hiding out....Some of my favorite summer BBQ smokes - very nice sweet/spice flavor with a strong backbone.

I have. In the past, I've not liked them. The fact that they're short filler makes them more picky. Short filler doesn't have to translate as "bad" by any stretch, it's just they can't be pushed without pushing back, flavor wise. The Fernandez smokes are identical to the firsts as far as I can tell....the curly heads are definitely not the same. I think I could give them another shot, because I think I'd handle the short filler better than I did in the past, but I can get high quality long filler cigars for similar or even lower prices.

That said, I don't tend to "push" my cigars these days, and there are a handful of short filler smokes I like, so maybe it's time to try the curly head again.

Don Tomas Allegro 5.5x50 Toasted the foot as slow as I could, and puffed every 30-45 seconds, and it stayed lit for about 55 minutes.
For 5.99 it was a wonderful smoke! Keep something on hand to drink, it'll dry you out!
