Got my ebay $00.99 ebay Ropp cherrywood in the mail today.
I cleaned bowl and stem with some EverClear. Soaked the bit in some OxiClean.
It has a weird smell not bad just weird, not sure if it's the cherry wood reacting with the alcohol or what. The bit was loose, so I just wrapped a piece of rolling paper around the tenon and it fits nice and snug.
Going to give it smoke tomorrow after work. :)

Just picked up an unsmoked Churchill Poker on ebay for $10.00. And a Jura Brandy from Israel; anyone have any experience with either?

I am interested in your thoughts on the Ropp cherrywood as I just picked up one from a local tobacconist for 5 bucks a few months ago. Sanitized the stem with some bleach, then rubbed olive oil on it. I tried the salt and alcohol to "sweeten" the bowl, but it all drained out so I sanded the inside a bit to even the cake. I really enjoy this pipe and use it for my aromatics such as Town Topic and Nording Labrador. Lee VanCleef used one in his movies and I really like the rustic nature of these pipes. The pipe store has one more left if anyone wants one.

Dunhill pipe cleaners, eh? Never seen those before. Like 'em? I'm still in search of the perfect pipe cleaner that does a good job and doesn't leave little fuzzies stuck in the stem.

From 4noggins. Also, 1 lb P&W 400 from Carole, along with a sample of Wilkes Bestmake, which I've been curious to try. The Butera blended Flake is something that I've been wanting to try as well. I'm assuming it's a McClelland offering

Another bag of Stonehaven on the way via trade (can't have too much Stony!) as well as a tin of Ennerdale (trade, also).

Tobacco cellar restock is in progress - McClellands Blackwoods Flake, GLP Quiet Nights, C&D Oriental Silk and Rattrays Highland Targe.

Well, the bowl polish I ordered arrived today... They'd sent me stem polish by accident! No biggie though, I rang them up and they're sending me out the bowl polish today, and letting me keep a hold of the stem polish.

They're good and thick but they do still sometimes leave little fuzzies behind, similar quality to my regular tobacconists own branded ones really, which are quite a bit cheaper.

My penultimate pipe smoking purchase was a passel of tobacco. My latest pipe smoking purchase is a secret, but I am incredibly anxious for delivery.

Now John, you know cliffhangers aren't allowed here. Now I'm going to have to tune in everyday to make sure I don't miss anything. Geez, this is worse than Buck Rogers......
