That is a nice haul, good sir!

Today I received another Stanwell, which I'm attempting to restore myself. I'm a bit stuck on how to stain it, so I might just rub some bowl polish on it and leave it semi-natural after having lightly sanded and cleaned it up.

This is how it looked before I touched it (yes, that's a largish fill on the bottom. No, I don't care:D):

My handwriting is terrible, so I make nice printed labels which are less offensive to my eyes. Plus, I like the pretty colours! :D

Finished it up tonight. I just used Denicare bowl polish on the wood and I think it turned out rather nicely. Rubbed it in and left it for a while, then polished with the 12k micromesh, then hit it again. It's got a nice shine, but not glassy like with the buffer wheel. I'm happy with it!

A too-long-to-post list of new blends (and current favorites), prompted by a need to squirrel away some tobacco in case the mail-order rules change.

Howsbout all of us move to Montana or Alaska. We can pool our pipes and tobacco, firearms and ammo, and other resources, and establish a pipe smoking commune.

I've never seen a pipe so gummed up. I think the guy smoked it until it got clogged and then just stopped. The stem was stuck on the pipes when it showed up... yuck.

Here it is cleaned up. There is one nick on the stem that I may work on more.

Purchased and smoked 3 OTCs today which I've heard great things about: Middleton's Cherry Blend (MM cob), Carter Hall (Omega), Sir Walter Raleigh (MM CG). All inoffensive and pleasant in their own unique, simple ways, but right now I don't think I'm an OTC burley kinda guy. Highlight of my day was my bowl of English Luxus.

Sad to learn today that the Uhle's dealer I *just* discovered in town is "changing locations." Pity, as it was terribly convenient. Hopefully they're not going far/out of business.

It was the tiny little Havana Boutique Tobacco shop in the Golden Valley Commons. It's still there but they're having quite the liquidation sale (my OTCs were all 50% off). From what I can tell it really is a relocating thing, but depending on how far away it goes I may not bother anymore. Tobacco Grove and Golden Leaf are friendly and reliable.

$18.50 on the bay (incl. shipping)

So even if its crap (pressed meer or something) - there's no great
    loss! :)
