Little junktique finds. The tins are full of tobacco - don't know if it's smoke-worthy. The seal on the spinnaker has been popped, but the Rattray's seems unopened. The tampers are cigar store indian figures.
First 4noggins order of 2014 is here. A couple of tins of 2013 Xmas Cheer, the new GLP, some London Burley (I haven't tried it, but if it's anywhere as good as GE, I'll like it) and some more 2015 to cellar. Not a bad little TAD haul.
(Disregard the pipes in the rack in the back) I picked these guys up in the last month.
Starting at the top left and going down
Big Ben woody wood 302
Big Ben giant black 438
Big Ben ranger
Big Ben blue experiment 90 degree stem
Big Ben Cafe Noir
Two new work/beater pipes
Yellow Bole imperial
I kind of went nuts after seeing all of the awesome stuff you guys have, and well I had the money so why not.
I'm really trying to explore the tobacco world, I'm going from the old school drug store blends to the finer tobaccos. It's a lot to pick up and I'm slowly breaking into them but I feel like I need to try everything to be able to become one with the pipe.
Small tobacco order for me:
1 x 50g tin Nightcap
1 x 50g tin My Mixture 965
1 x 50g tin Capstan Blue Flake
1 x 1.5oz tin H&H Black Mountain
I want to compare the Nightcap with some that I have from 2007. It was a tin I cracked and then forgot about for 6 years. I found it last year, re-hydrated it, and have been smoking and enjoying it. I want to see how the dried and rehydrated tobacco compares with a new tin. I've never tried the other 3 blends, so looking forward to them!
This is fairly modest, but it IS a pipe smoking purchase. The screens in the Airograte are a pain to clean. On the recommendation of a member of the forum, and am going to try a brass screen that can be cheaply replaced when it gets tarred up.
