I was just out in the shed doing some work on a pipe I am making. Bent over to pick something up off the floor and heard a crack. Didn't think anything of it at the time. Just came in to have lunch and reached into my pocket to get my best pipe out to give it a clean - tenon snapped. The moral of the story is - they're called beater pipes for a reason. Think that I'll be taking one of my cheap pipes with me next time I'm doing some carving.
