I know we ALL have atleast 1 buttfugly pipe in our collection. So show em off.

Mine is an estate Medico that i got from an estate auction from one of the richest people in our area. I guess they stayed rich by not spending on nice pipes lol.
As you can see is has a nice case of skin cancer lol

I don't have any butt uglies at the moment. I can't bring myself to cough up any coin on an ugly one. Though I did get a couple of homely ones in a group buy, in order to get to a nice one. The others were traded or given away.

Too bad I'm cameratically challenged. I have the ugliest Savinelli Autograph in existence. I'd sell it but no one would want it. Ugly shape, ugly grain, ugly stem. Smokes good, though.

I thought Sav's Autograph series was their top of the line. The ones I've seen were expensive. Have you considered having it rusticated?

How did that come to be? I've never seen one crack that badly.

    Don't know, OC. It arrived
    cracked like that. Didn't help
    that I couldn't insert a pencil
in the chamber and the system
    was completely blocked upon
    arrival. There was even cake
on the OUTSIDE of the bowl.
    Not just the rim!

WOW----Snake---That is really wild. I have NEVER seen a pipe cracked like that. Cake on the outside of the bowl. Cake so bad a pencil could not be put into the bowl. Holy Freakin crap.:dkn::dkn::confused:

She cleaned up nicely though, and
smokes just fine now. Cracks don't
go through to the chamber so they
don't affect the smoke. Won this in
a lot of pieces parts for 35 USD. I
managed to make two good pipes
out of it. The other was a Shillelagh.

I like that it's still in service. Someone obviously had more than a few good smokes out of it before you got it.

Okay this is my best/worst pipe
    Meerschaum bowl with bamboo stem,
Been well smoked in a previous life and this is the one i smoke at work when no-one else is looking
a bit tatty looking but it smokes wonderfully
hopefully id like to own a "posh" bamboo stemmed pipe one day as i really like the knobbly bits on the stem

They're up there in the line. This is a Grade 4, however - not anywhere close to a 00 or 000 grade.

If $80 on the estate market is expensive, mine was expensive.

No way! I want to keep it ugly. It makes my other pipes look that much better. :ohyh:

I've got some like that in the estate lot I bought as well, along with two glued-together Franken-pipes, one was taped together, at least a third of the lot was so dirty the draw was completely blocked (including my now-beloved old H&B Cobb that I smoke as I type!) and one with a broken metal screw-in that was not repaired. Oh yeah, and an extremely nasty and persistent ghost in all but the two black "plastic" ones marked "the pipe".

It's quite the adventure, especially for my first pipes! :dkn:
Truly amusing was my son's reaction last night when he saw the big bottles of Gem-Clear (190 proof) and Canadian Mist (pipe sweetener for my dad!).

I guess it came through the cracks, eh? :D

So far, you're the big winner! :ohyh:

This pipe does not qualify for this thread. I think it is a beauty.

Pfui. My flame grain Teddy horn looks awful. I haven't cleaned the rim or bit in - what? - a week at least. Ready for the trash heap.
