Like Shortcut, but less sweet?

I bought an ounce of Shortcut to Mushrooms late last spring and smoked a couple bowls which I enjoyed but pretty quickly went back to my favorite Carter Hall.

I kept the Shortcut in my drawer though because I just loved the smell of it in the pouch.

Last week I decided to smoke another bowl of it, and I believe I enjoy it more now than I did before!

The only thing though is that I'd like to try something similar but not quite as sweet. Any recommendations?

Almost any medium English will be less sweet.

One step back from shortcut, try some "Solent" from Mac Baren.

Two steps back, British Woods from McClelland, Maltese Falcon from Pease.

Three steps back.... Old Dublin from Peterson, Old Ironsides from Dan/CAO, Pease's Odyssey or Abingdon

Frog Morton works for most folks.

I'm a Shortcut junkie, but I get what you mean with the sweetness, some days you just don't want it. I found that I really like the McClelland Dark English Full. Good stout blend, but not a jackhammer.

Frog Morton is very similar; simpler, yet just as satisfying. I would say Blue Mountain has that same quality: simple, and good.

I'm no fan of anything sweet w/ Lat or Oriental in it . The IRC Dr. Bradley is the only one I can do . It's unique and worth a try . It was probably the first well known "crossover" blend

Would anyone care to comment on Boswell's Countryside?
