    Hello Forum,
.Does any of the UK members know where to purchase Mason Jars in the UK.I had a look at some jars in Asda but the clasp around the neck of the jar was of poor quality.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Home-Made-Deluxe-Preserving/dp/B000YJF2S2/ref=pd_sim_kh_7

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Set-of-4-Le-P...5920689QQihZ023QQcategoryZ20654QQcmdZViewItem

And here are the Ball brand jars: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=B0000BYDAK&search-type=ss&index=blended

I'm not sure what the shipping would be to the UK, but the price is pretty good. Plus you have the exchange rate going for you. The first two are "clipseal" jars, and the retailers are located in the UK, so shipping would be a bit less, I suppose. Hope this helps.

    Hi All,

You'd probably have to go to a good cooking equipent shop or possibly an old style ironmonger to get them ( usually called Kilner Jars in the U.K.).

Charity shops can also be a good source. If all else fails conatct the Womens' Rural Institute (WRI) they use a lot of them for their jam and preserves making contests.

I've been using the ASDA ones for about a year now and haven't so far had any problems if that helps,

    Best to all

    Gerry

They must be illegal too, afraid you might whip up a batch of botulism and poison you're neighbors with preserves.
