    Surprised you didn't I???!

Thought I'd be smoking something other than meerz din'tchya?

Well, I got into a meer-mood and it just kept going!

Smoked 6 meerz today, IMP (3), Hakan, CAO Bekler, and a Paykoc. Of all of them, 4 smoked in superb fashion (all 3 IMPs, and the CAO Bekler). The Hakan and Paykoc was a tad fussy as in "gurglez" due to the tiny bore of the mortise-tenon they have. Bet all would have been superb if the bore of the Hakan and Paykoc were just a bit wider. Otherwise, all smokes were excellent IMO and kept me in the meer frame of mind.

Tomorrow, it's Tuesday and y'all know what that is.......TINSKY TUESDAY! :thumbsu:

    See ya tomorrow!

It is Tuesday already here. I have my 'Ruby Tuesday' which is Davidoff Flake Medallions in my prince shaped meer.

    Hi All,

That damned Dondi pinched my punch line!!!

At the moment I'm on a simpler system - if it's between any Sunday and the following Saturday then it's a Falcon!

    Enjoy whatever

They do go down well in warmer months. Must be the Virginia. I smoke OGS a great deal more in the summer as well.

I have a Paykoc lattice bent that had the same problem. Not a bad gurgler at all but annoying. It was like a bead of moisture was hanging partially in the opening of the tenon. It didn't gurgle all of the time. It depended on the tobacco and moisture content. Passing a pipe cleaner down the stem to pick up the condensation on the end of the tenon was a pain. So, yesterday, I went to work :groucho:

I put a piped cleaner in the stem and put the heat to it to straighten it out to just shy of straight. I then grabbed my drill index and started working my way up in diameter, drilling from both ends. I cautiously increased the diameter and quit while I was ahead. The pipe now smokes like I thought it would when I bought it (and, more importantly, I didn't destroy the pipe.)

The Paykoc was a pipe I just didn't smoke very much. I figured, if I screwed up, I have 8 cobs on hand that smoked better than the meer. The pipe no longer fits the case but I don't care. I only smoke that pipe in my "fortress of solitude" so there's no need to case it. My cobs still get 98% of the action but I'll be able to bring the Paykoc into my rotation now.

I did something kind of similar but didn't alter the shape of the stem at all. I just took a "ball" Dremel Tool bit (~1/4" size) and manually opened up the end of the tenon so it is more like a funnel and took a small standard bit and opened up the opening immediately where it goes into the tenon. Will see if this helps. Otherwise, I know I can always sent it/them out to a shop to have the newer more open tenon-mortise system placed.

Crazy thing I noticed is that the CAO Bekler has the narrow tenon too but NO Gurgle(z) at all from her. Must be a superior quality block o'meer that Ol'Ismet required for his carvings (signed esp.) I believe that is why the Bekler smoked best of all.

edit: Contributing to the CAO Bekler smoking the best would also have a bit to do with the carver.......I believe he did smoke a pipe, anyone know for sure?

That rough-looking, rusticated-like bent on the left is pretty cool. What's the story on the straight billiard in the big box on the bottom?

The rough looker is an IMP PineCone. The boxed is a CAO Bekler Rhodesian smoothie. Beklers are great meerz! :)
