Micromesh

    Understand this stuff is good for polishing old dull stems. What grades are used for polishing.
    Anything else that works well ?

    Soak nasty vulcanite in OxyClean for 30-60 minutes then wet sand with MicroMesh 1500 through 12000 for glasslike finish.

    I use Novus on my vintage drums to bring their luster back to life.... I wonder if that would work on the stems....
    I might try that first....

    Magic eraser works fine too. I've only had to use the oxyclean once on a very very abused stem. Micromesh is good to remove scratches and teeth chatter. I've cleaned up 20 or so stems and there is still plenty of life left in the mocromesh pads.
