I purchased a few different cobs from MM and i noticed some bowls are a yellow/cornmeal color. And other cobs are a white/spackle plaster color. Anybody have a source of why this is like that? Are ones better then the other?

The yellow ones are made from asbestos.

It's just what happens when you make pipes out of corn. I like the red ones.
