This is what Sasquatch has named the "Christmas Calabash" and is one of the best clenches I have ever owned.

It has a very large bowl but the pipe itself is small and light.

Sorry for the awful pics, but believe me when I say it is in my daily rotation. Almost a shame to smoke it.

That is a good looking pipe. I really like the contrast between the pipe and stem.

    Nice work Sas. :punk:

I agree. Also, I would like to go into my first smoke with this pipe.

As I started into the pipe, the difference in quality from some of my other pipes was immediate. The channeling for air was perfect the the pipe took a light from a paper match on the first strike. The next few puffs need not be aggressive and each thereafter was very satisfying. Not only in volume, but in consistency.

I am thirty-four minutes into the smoke and no gurgle. This is unheard of for me. The stem is so well constructed and the general weight of the pipe is so perfect I do not even notice it at times. Due to the volumes of smoke, I do not feel the need to smoke as aggressively either.

If I had to give this pipe one downfall, it would have to be the same thing that makes it great. For a newer pipe enthusiast, they would find that it would give them a bite. You have to be a very slow puffer not to be bitten due to the fact that each puff is so perfectly channeled that the full spirit of the tobacco is presented each and every time.

I am so happy that I had the luck of owning yet another one of Bannard's great customs. I suggest if you do not own one, that you fix that problem immediately. This is now my favorite pipe.

Yeah but the real question is - did this one turn your hands brown or not? That's the sign of real quality, I hear.
