Well I'm kind of in the same situation as Mark. My mom called and would like to buy me a pipe for xmas. I tried to tell her no that was alright, but she thought I was being rude. I have many pipes, but I have only ever bought two new. I like the history of an old pipe, or at least the history I dream up in my mind about the pipe. Anywho I have no idea how much money she has, but this is what I picked.

Very nice! Looks like a Stanwell, an English name, but actually a Danish pipe. Good quality, now you need to try some Danish Toby :)

That is one of my favorite shapes, a rusticated Canadian with a saddle bit, good luck!

I wonder which one of you wise asses went and picked this pipe up? She went to purchase it and this one was gone. Oh well. On to the next.

I take that to be a Savinelli Baronet Bruyere EX. Huge pipe for man hands. Excellent smoking qualities for the long smoke. Their vulcanite wants to oxydize quickly - keep it waxed or oiled and you'll never go wrong. You will love it on a quiet evening.

Read Moo's post above. If you prefer this particular pipe, you should be able to find another out in the ether somewheres.
