I just picked up this Pete as an estate off of smokingpipes.com. They gave it a 4.9/5, and so for 40 bucks I figured I can't go wrong. My dad is going to bring it to me down here in Mexico in a few weeks when my folks come. He is also bringing me some McClelland Holiday Spirit ;)
Anyways, I liked the look of this one with the thick shank and no nickel/silver band (nothing against them, I have a Pete Zulu 268 with the band on it, love it) but I just wanted something more simple. Also, my 4 month old daughter's name is "Shannon" and so I wanted to get it also to commemorate her. Anyways, if any of you have a Peterson Shannon, let me know your yours smokes. I will get a review up of this one as soon as possible!

I love my Shannon, allthought it is a strange piece, mine only says Shannon, and made in the republic of ireland, no P on the stem and no Peterson stamp. It is identical in shape and looks tho, and it smokes like a dream!

I read the blog at smokingpipes regarding their estate pipes. They seem to be pretty careful about what they actually sell so that should be a great smoke for that kind of money. Well done. Enjoy!

    I have a Shannon B10. Haven't smoked it in a while, though.

It's a great pipe, but gets a bit of a gurgle every now and then. Might load it up later tonight.

The grain on this one looked decent to me, my other Peterson has a few small fills but, what can you say, it's a Peterson. Looking forward to this one, might have to dedicate it either to a certain blend.

I have a Shannon 80s, and even though it took a while to break in, it is a great smoker! You should be through the break-in since it's an estate. Beautiful pipe, enjoy!

The center one is my Shannon, just before a fresh coat of wax.

I have bought two estate pipes from them and they fully describe any issues with the pipe.

I love my Petersons! I am enamored of late with the bulldogs. My first was an 80s Ebony, then an XL15 rusticated and then most recently a 80s rusticated.
The XL15 is a great meaty pipe! I love it! But the 80s's are great for that hour or so smoke.

Yeah, this will only be my second Pete and I am pleased with how my other one smokes. Jussto, what is the finish like on the Shannon? My only worry is that it might be a little to "glossy."

My Shannon isn't super glossy. I think it was when I first got it, but now it's pretty matte. I need to go get it buffed a bit, I think.
