What are some good ones? Most of the time when I see Virginia or Virginia/perique blends they tend to be in a flake. Now I certainly don't mind flakes, but I really do like ribbon cut tobaccos as a general rule.

There are a few ribbon cut (or just non-flake, non-plug) VAs and Vapers I've tried that I really liked. Tilbury, of course, is at the top of the list (though, strictly speaking it DOES contain a modicum of burley) but there's also Ashton's Gold Rush, Astley's 55 I think, Startford, Telegraph Hill, SG Lakeland Gold, and right up tying with Tilbury would be Scottish Cake by McConnell's. Oh, and Hal o the Wynd, though I really need to revisit that one.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had some good recommendations on some good VA or VA/Per blends that are ready to smoke out of the tin, no rubbing, slicing, or folding necessary. Thoughts?

Anniversary Kake and AJ's VaPer from H&H, Cairo by GL Pease, Park Square by Peretti, and Elizabethan Mixture by Dunhill all come to mind...

McClelland Boston 1776, you gotta try this one.
John Patton's Cool Hand Fluke, I have been smoking this often lately and it is good.

Germain Royal Jersey Perique, not a favorite of mine but the cut is right for you.

I gather that Dunhill's new Elizabethen mixture is a VAper, that comes rubbed and looks to be quite pleasant!

Dunhill's deluxe navy rolls, another VAper come in little discs but I guess that doesnt help!

Estorica Dunbar is fantastic. If you don't mind rubbing out coins go for escudo.

McConnells Scottish Cake , JF Germain Royal Jersey Perique , J Fox Dorisco off the top of my head .

Edit : The royal Jersey Has some Latakia ... so I guess that doesn't count .. but it's pretty damn good

Snake - Nightcap is ribbon, but it has a ton of Latakia so may not fit the VA criteria
