Just finished a bowl of cherry vanilla from the Tobacco Barn in an old cob while a huge thunder storm grumbled overhead. I had a bowl of their Treasure Chest earlier today that was a mutch more enjoyable pipe.

Ending the day with Irish Flake stuffed into my favourite and most used Legend. I'm just getting the hang of smoking flake properly and the difference is such, I must celebrate daily. :) I love my lat/oriental blends but Irish Flake is something else that grabs my attention just as much as the English lat bombs. in a very different way. I find it genuinely transporting when savoured at a quiet time. I time travel through moments in my child hood and teens in semi rural Alabama. The smell of the farmers and miners at the country turkey shoots, the smell of my uncle Will and that black pipe and the strange brown large worm like coil of twist he carried in the pocket of his overalls. That pipe, lit or not, rarely left his wrinkled, sun burnt, dirt farmer's face, with his rheumy blue eyes and his wild magical bull**** stories about stolen apples and trips to hell. He sat in a cloud of pipe smoke and told his stories in the back yard, in the dark, out by the barbeque pit . His pipe competing with the pit for aroma.
Damn, I love this stuff. Great for slow dreamy smokes of the strengthy variety.

Just fired up my Invicta Apple with some McC CC 2011, hot tea on the side, for me hot tea really brings out the citrus and sweetness of a fine Virginia tobacco! :puffy:

Just back from lovely Plattsburgh, NY. My wife was supposed to leave for Florida last evening, but 32F and rain tends to put a damper on landings and takeoffs, so we spent the night and got her on a flight this morning.

I was looking forward to a big bowl of Ten Russians upon returning home ( I took no pipes for the supposedly 3 hour trip last evening), but then I read Cravens friggin flake post, which made me want a bowl of Dark Strong, which I'm currently smoking in a big Radice bark. Thanks a lot Herb, I'll be screwed up all day now.
