Bad day. Gonna try to relax with some Balkan Flake in a pete, but I don't think its going to work.
I usually only poke fun at at the "malt" beverages...lol...
Cigar was good but really not as satisfying as a pipe so about to put flame to some SMM in a Kevin Arthur Danish Scoop! Crown on 2 rocks to rinse (just for you Puff)
the questionable 8 year old 1792 in the guildhall billy. this is top stuff. suspect it was a mild batch on the tonquin but it smokes like a REAL mild FVF with the ghost from a bowl of 1792 before it. great stuff even if it smells like complete sh!t in the tin.
Frog Morton on the Town in my Kaywoodie Majestic. Barq's root beer on the side. Still too humid for pipe smoking, but I was persistent.
GLP Westminster in a Dunhill inner tube 196 billiard, classic medium english, masterfully blended taste of smoky, earthy latakia and sweet virginia, orientals are in the background lending some spice and bitter creaminess, fairly strong and full bodied, a great smoke, a new bottle of BenRiach curiositas on the side. Spirits and Pipe smoking, hedonism at its best :bandit:
Cracked a tin of really old McC #14 this morning. The guy that has been giving me all the Cubans wants to have a pipe next time we get together, so I'm opening some big dogs in his honor. Not that a lowlife cigar smoker will appreciate all the flavors, it just gives me an excuse to pop open some gems.
Bengal Slices in a Squatch OC
C&D Epiphany in an Aran 69. The perique is strong in this one!
Union Square in my Bjarne freehand. Truly, one of the best
VAs out there, IMHO.
Drank WAY too much last night and am feeling it this morning...have to remember that even though I'm only 30 I can't drink like I once did :velho:
5100 in a Tsuge with a strong pot o coffee, side of advil
Ruins of Asgard in the peterson, coffee on the side.
Rattrays Jocks Mixture in a MM/Walker churchwarden, Twinings on the side and The J. Geils Band on the tubes.
Just you wait, it gets worse.
DGTed the Union Square as I still had
some left from earlier.
Brings back memories of driving from Ohio to central Florida with a busted radio antenna and nothing else to listen to but a single J. Geils cassette. I never ever ever ever wanna hear "Freeze Frame" again...
No pipe this morning, at work with the anti-smoke nazis watching. It's gotta wait till I get off work. /sigh
A truck is a great angle for watching the "scenery" isn't it?
Red cake in da Cob.
GLP's Abingdon in a Dunhill ODA 835, a Balkan powerhouse, nice interplay between the smoky latakia and creamy, spicy orientals with the sweetness of Va in the background, a complex smoke, less so than Odyssey, smoother/milder but equally enjoyable. BenRiach curiositas on the side
H&H Berry Nice was Ok, not as "nice" as I'd thought it was going to be.
Up next was:
C&D Bayou Morn in a stock MM Legend (another one, with a vintage '60's MM saddle bit). This was ok too but probably won't be getting more of this one or the Berry Nice.
So goes "exploration" of new to me 'baccy!
More C&D Haunted Bookshop! In a Nording Viking (one of my car pipes), I've got some errands to run today.
cogito ergo puff
PA in a MM cob, Twinings on the side and the Beach Boys on the tubes.
Barking Dog in a MM Diplomat
Hal O' The Wynd in a Stanwell HCA. :coffee:
Puff, "OK" is about how I'd describe Berry Nice too. I was hoping for a bit more Berry and a bit more Nice....
enjoying Sweet Dublin RED in an OLD Stanwell Santana...
