Must be about my 4th bowl of Cherry Blend in the proto-pooch in the last 24 hours. Beginning to break in. Good thing Cherry Blend is easy on the nicotine, as this is a fairly tall bowl and I'm not loading it to the rim.

Ferndown Yellow & Brown in my Bjarne. Can't stop smoking today, but hey no tongue bite and so far no repeats! Had some McClelland Dark Navy Flake (2035 I think?) not long ago in the new cob - great smoke, and I enjoyed that flake more than I had previously. Perhaps subtle ghosts in my briars just didn't quite go with it? New appreciation for that tobacco.

This Ferndown is simply great though. Sweet, delicious VA with just enough Orientals to give it a richer, mellower, earthier flavor. Love it!:puffy:

One Irish Flake and a couple pinches of Frog original in the proto-pooch. My hard work with the Cherry Blend is already starting to pay off- this is a pretty nice smoke. Did a little more shaping on it tonight and trimmed up the stem a bit. I still hold out hope it'll turn into a dog.
Ah, Irish Flake... I like the Cherry Blend, but it's nice to smoke something with some cojones again.

UF in a Great Dane. Trying to figure out the UF. Great flavor, nice aroma, has a good amount of nicotine, takes a light easily....

But it's a real SOB if you puff too quick. Kinda bitey for me so far, and I'm about 1/4-1/3 of the way through my tin. Its teaching me patience, that's for sure.

50/50 split of Mcclelland's Aurora and CH. Eh, too much burley. Hmm..maybe too much VA. Either way, this blending crap ain't for me. Burning it up in a Malaga Oom Paul.

French Quarter. Maybe it needs to be slightly rehydrated or something....but I remember it being better, and less bitey.
