Giving one of my kid's b-day gifts a go....an Oliva Serie V. Good stick, no doubt about it, but I could have got a tin of primo pipe weed for the same price! Not complaining...:)

Huh, weird coincidence, I smoked one of those just a few weeks ago. Picked it up to celebrate when I found some Penzance at my B&M :)
I thought it was pretty fine too. These days I probably only smoke one or two good cigars a year. I agree with you though, when I thought about what I'd paid for it, I concluded once again that pipes are where it's at for me.

Just finished Dunhill Flake in a Dunhill Bulldog... while waxing the Healey (in a July 4th parade in the morning).

Fireworks were made legal in this state
this year. So, admist the chaos of light,
noise, and the smell of magnesium, I sat
out and enjoyed a bowl of IF in a Falcon.
Sounds like a war zone out with practically
everyone lighting their myriad of ballistics
    around the neighbourhood.

Gonna be smoking a pipe as you drive through the parade? C'mon, a guy in a Healey smoking a pipe is great PR for us! :)

I seriously considered it, but doubt it. I may have an unlit pipe clinched, but I don't want an amber to go flying (even at such slow speeds) and hit the carpet/interior.

If I do keep an unlit pipe, it will likely be the bulldog I smoked tonight.

Son is riding with me to throw candy, beads, etc., while the wife and daughter are on the sides to see all the other cars, groups, and floats (and the daughter wants to collect the candy, beads, etc.) and the wife wants to take pictures.

Fox & Hound (not recommended) in an unnamed basket bent billiard (my first pipe). Move to the back porch, add coffee on the table and Sherlock Holmes in the lap, makes for one fantastic morning.

I like the Oliva G's and O's. Good smokes for cheap, and the G's (Maduros) have a kind of spicy note that I like. Speaking of seegars, I had a Guantanamera Compay earlier. Machine-made Cuban stick; tasted alright but construction was seriously lacking.

Now puffing a bowl of Midnight Ride in my MM Country Gentleman. I was going to smoke my General, but I'm away from home and it didn't fit in my pipe bag.

    Happy 4th of July!

Just got back from the lake, and am firing up some Five Bros. in the Nachwalter pot. What a day...went blind from sunglare earlier, and I still have fireworks to (not) look forward to.

Just to prove how stupid I can be, after sucking down a large bowl of Five Bros....I just fired up a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Churchill...hey, the Fourth might be going off with a bang, but I'm determined to go out with a whimper...:)
