I realized recently how much open tobacco I have so I got a 12 pack of small jars. Most of it I jarred simply to keep them from drying out before I finish them, but I have two jars which I intend to allow to sit for as long as possible. One stuffed full of Union Square (most of a tin) and one full of 2010 Christmas Cheer. :puffy:

GAF again. Today's burner is a MM General. Took slightly more than a flake to fill this bowl.

I'm starting to lose track... been trying all sorts today.
Currently Sunset Breeze in a freshly cleaned Peterson bent... taste has improved a tad, pleasant but not stunning.

some rather leathery (despite over an hours drying time) flakes of SG Sam's flake... too early in the tin to tell whether this will become a regular or not, but it looks promising so far

Davidoff Blue Mixture, a fantastic room note if I do say so myself. Accompanied with a glass of Port. How very civilised. :puffy:

I caved in and tried some germain's Special Latakia Flake. I think I just found a Latakia I like. Sweet merciful Christ this is good!

Just lit up some Presbyterian Mixture in the Savinelli Tevere. Forgot to put in the balsa insert, and also didn't put in the adapter, so we'll see how it smokes. If it gets rough around the edges I'll just break down the pipe and add a filter. Cream pop on the side

edit: Just added the filter to see if I noticed a difference. Not a big difference, but it's there. I think I like the filters.

Peter Stokkebye Proper English in the Ben Wade Canadian.

This blend is great. Nothing overbearing, very well balanced. If they put it in a tin with a fancy label, people would easily pay 10 bucks for under two ounces...instead, we get it at under 7 bucks for two ounces....not a bad deal! Nothing fancy here, but it doesn't need to be fancy. Just a good middle-of-the-road English blend. Nice sweetness from the VA, nice Oriental presence, just enough smokey latakia....good stuff, and finely cut for when you don't want an hour long smoke.

Sweetened black coffee on the side.

Starting the day with some Stonehaven in a James Upshall - gonna be a hot, summer day... which I will take anytime over a cold (Minnesota) winter day.

Good toby. Good pipe. Great statement. I, too, will take heat over cold... even here in Maryland (or anywhere else!).
