Well I know Autumn is officially a couple of days away yet, but today we went to Fort Wayne's annual Johnny Appleseed Festival (John Chapman died and is buried here) which pretty much kicks off Fall as far as I'm concerned. As such, I'm celebrating by cracking a 10+-year-old tin of Robert Lewis' Tree Mixture and smoking it in my Bari Squash. Seems like an appropriate combination for this time of year.

I have my tobacconist mix some vanilla Cavendish with black Cavendish 50/50. Love it, real mellow and not overpoweringly vanilla but still creamy.

I'm enjoying an after-supper pipe of Spilman in a Kaywoodie 22 billiard. A hearty smoke.

Just cleaned up a Kaywoodie bent billiard, test ride was Boswell Peaches and cream. Started out great, flavor kind of went away towards the end.

The prior owner sure enjoyed his cherry toby. Lots of scrubbin to get the stem clean. The bowl reamed out great, no hidden faults.

Last night it was some old Virginia Woods in a cob. Surprisingly it was sorta flat. Think I need to let it dry a little more and try it in a different pipe. This morning it was a Bill Bailey's Balkan Blend Breakfast in an old Grabow. With a cup of black coffee it answered pretty darn well. Just got a couple of new tobaccos in the mail from a trade... Can't decide what's next... Such troubles :D

Parfait Time! My first parfait is Creme Brurlee on the bottom a little less then half way, then filled and packed with PS LNF. This quite interesting. The begining was pure Navy but there was a whisper of what was to come as the smoke was drawn through the sweet Creme Brulee. As the Navy Flake mellowed it was delicious with still just a hint of sweet. Towards the middle, as the two actually blended it was really unique. It was like a creamy lightly flavored vanilla black tea. Now as I get towards the bottom, the Viginia has totally penetrated the Creme Brulee. I'm left with a much richer, more potent and flavorful, creamy vanilla smoke, that is not overly sweet and is much higher in nicotine. One pipe cleaner and two relites. A very interesting and enjoyable smoke. :)
