Burley all evening. Haunted Bookshop before my meeting, PA after, and now Haunted Bookshop again on the porch before bed. Pretty good first impression...satisfying, without quite as much in-your-face strength of Old Joe Krantz. A little less spicy and smokey as well. Overall, a big step up from drugstore OTC blends (and a better price if you buy it in bulk) without the intensity of OJK. I'm not sure which I like better, but I have a feeling a pound of either would be nice to have!

Best way to smoke SL... in a massive pipe! They let you get the most out of the blend's complexity, IMO.

C&D's Briar Fox in a gourd 'bash. Some Rooibos Tea with cinnamon on the side. I've already tangled with the city's gas line contractors this morning for putting a port-o-john in my yard without permission. Don't they know NOT to mess with a pipe smoker before he has had his first pipe of the day?

Well, they do now...and verily, I say unto them...woe, woe on the next sap who dares stray into my yard....for my attack Yorkie-Poo shall be loosed upon them, and he will yet taste the flesh of men! (Assuming these guys have skinny ankles and lo cut shoes, anyway).

Trying a bowl of 2010 Christmas Cheer. It's alright, but it would be better if it were warmer or I were inside. Might have to scrap this idea and get out some latakia, or at least Orientals. This tastes good, but its just too mild for the weather :(

Old Joe Krantz in my Stanwell earlier. That was a mighty fine smoke

Yeah, scrapped that idea and switched to Rattray's Red Rapparee in the GBD. This is my first smoke of this stuff, from a very generous package of samples from another forum member. This stuff is fantastic at first light! I'm loving it :)

About to go for a bowl of Haunted Bookshop in my Luciano bent ball. Kind of a catch-all pipe. Well....catch-most? I tend to avoid putting anything heavy on vanilla/caramel/fruit in there, as well as strong latakia or Oriental blends....sort of mostly "British-style" flavorings (various "lakeland" types including Grousemoor, but also some non-floral aromatics quite different from American type aros....Erinmore flake, University flake, etc.) and unflavored natural blends...burleys, VA. I have a feeling it will end up being used primarily for things like Erinmore and Uni flake.

    Anyway, burley can't hurt it.
