This is the Official 2014 Pipe of the Year Poll, part one.

Our first order of business is to vote on cost.

I have intentionally surpassed cob money in the poll. Our goal is briar. DGE isn't making us all cobs, and MM does not offer much in the way of customization.

Please vote. It's important. With sufficient budget, we will have many, many options. With a more limited budget, the options fall away. Votes will be visible publicly, so consider your vote your statement.

Please note this thread is not the place to discuss/ debate cost. Just vote.

    Go team!

I guess a vintage Ivarsson group buy is out of the question?

The poll is reflective of approved PSF POY costs in the past.

There is no $>40o cohort, but if we all vote for ">$150" we can discuss it Moo ;/)

    That has not been decided.
Nor will it be until we have a budget.

I voted $80 to $100. Anything below that will be icing on the cake. Especially for a quality pipe that I'd be proud to smoke when I'm reading the forums.

I voted $60 to $80 with the goal being a reasonably affordable smooth pipe to act as a counterpoint to last year's blast.

I voted 40 to 60 because I'd like to see the POY be as inclusive as possible. I recall last year there being good participation, but there were several that were on the cusp for being able to spring for a $50 pipe. I'll be in at pretty much any of those price points, but I'd like to see as many as possible be able to be included.

I voted $80-$100. I think just under $100 including shipping would get us a really special pipe. And why skimp? These will last a lifetime.
It will be a little while so people will have time to save up.

I voted $40-$60 but now regret it and should have done $60-$80. That's reasonable for most, if not all. As long as the finished product reflects the price, I'd be very pleased.

I voted $80-$100...That's my usual price cap unless I find a more expensive pipe I really like. Happened numerous times though. Would spring for more if the pipe is right.

I voted $100-$150 as what I'd be willing to pay without further qualification. But I'd prefer to pay like $60-$80. On the other end, I'd consider paying more than $150 but the pipe would have to be right.

I just might have to join in for this. Never have smoked a high end/priced pipe ($50.) and would be interesting to see if they magically smoke better/more enjoyable than the pipes I have bought in the last 40 years.

I voted 80-100 as that'd be as high as I could go (it took me a while to decide between 80-100 and 60-80) , and I figure I have a while to save in order to make a bigger purchase like that.

x2. I'd prefer to be on the low end of that, as well. That number will be the most inclusive (for the group), while still affording us the opportunity to get a nice pipe.

I voted 80 to 100 which I seems like a reasonable amount to pay for a good briar.

Anything under $100 would be great.
