So I once wrote that I started pipes about 30 years ago, and only restarted a year ago. I had all the pipes from back then except for a free-hand that is strangely missing. I found the bag and the stem and they weren't in the old humidor that I had stored everything in for moving. Therefore, it's in the house somewhere. :msty:

I haven't looked real hard for it, as the parts I found were in a very messy basement. Figured it's probably just as cheap as the others were, although I remember paying a bit more for it.

I just happened to look at the stem again with my new-found pipe knowledge, and it's a Bjarne!
Ok, I did have more money than sense back then, but wow! Now I really have to find it!

That is a mystery. You do realize that this will haunt you until you find it...............even if it takes years.

It has and it will continue to do so. I can't find the dang thing. Why the stummel is gone, and not the whole pipe, and nothing else is missing is beyond me. Can't think where it could have gone, and I'm sure I had it out once since we moved here.
Ironically I didn't like it all that much back then because it had a conical chamber and I couldn't clench it. But I loved how it looked. Now I like that kind of bowl, and I prefer sitters (which it was) and freehands even more so I could actually appreciate it now.

I'll leave out all the cussing that I'm still doing.

I know I have heard that ghosts can be mischevious, but when they start messign with your pipes, that is crossing the line!!

If you are like my mom........check the freezer.

She always did that for some reason but she did actually find her car keys in there one time.

It is just a cheap knock-off anyway of the BeeYar-Knee pipes. Of which, I am an avid collector.:)

Good luck finding the rest of it. Strange that it was separated from it's stem. A Bjarne is worth the effort, though.

I gave my Bjarne to a friend for him to use, and
then a few months later he said he never smoked
it. Sooooooo.. I asked to have it back. Glad I did!
Now it's getting regular use as my English blend pipe.
    :thu:
    Hope you find it, MT!!

Naw, mine was better. ;) It was a free hand sitter with plateau top. This is frustrating to say the least.

Something more along the lines of this, perhaps?

    Need to hire a pipe-whisperer......
Hope it turns up! Had the same thing happen a few years back. Stored 6 pipes away and forgot about them. When I went looking again, I could only find 3 1/2....still bummed!

I just can't figure out any way to explain how the two pieces could have been separated in the first place! I'm pretty sure I paid 150 for it around 1981 or 82. It was a beautiful pipe. I'm running out of places to look.
