I like black cavendish and I'm not ashamed!

Whew..glad I got that off my chest.

The Sunday smoke of choice has been a very nice, mellow and aromatic black cav called Black Coral that I got from the local B&M.

    Me too!

They're a little too sweet for me to want on a daily basis but I do enjoy one from time to time.

Fav black cav so far is McClelland's Easy Street. :puffy:

I think Tewksbury's Bar Harbour is an outstanding Black Cavendish.:puffy:

I agree. It's an excellent tobacco, but then, so are all the other Tewksbury tobaccos.

Black cavendish is a nice smoke especially for those around you. One of my local shops has a blend called Black Spice that is very good.

If it's a nice evening, and I've had several bowls of English or VA/Per on the porch (along with libations), I'll often finish up with a bowl of Edwards' Buccaneer in a cob. Kind of a dessert thing. It can be a bit goopy, but a good, sweet smoke. That one always has a place in the rotation.

Thank you, Bear, I never would have been able to step forward without your brave pioneering confession. For I, too, have walked frequently on the dark side of the pipe. In fact, when at my local B&M today looking at lighters (no Bentley) I sought the advice of the tobacconist and learned that the cavendish that I've been smoking straight was really intended as a base for custom blends. But as embarassed as I realize I should be, I smoked cigarettes for too long to want to be reminded of them and really am quite content with a slow, cool, pleasant smelling pipe.

Good for you ! Black Cavendish is probably the biggest reason the non pipe smoking public puts up with us . The roomnote [ indoors or out ] is fantastic .. and it screams pipe to many people ... and draws them into our realm , which is a great one :thu2:

Definitely a cool smoke. Ok realistically don't let the lighter become further than arms length....but I'm glad I've found such a great support group!

Ha. The black cav is so common, it never occurred that liking it would be 'true confession' stuff. silly me. So, i confess, I don't usually like it. Too sweet and too mild for my tastes. That is why I smoke alone, I suppose. Even hard core cig smokers don't usually like the stuff I smoke.

Personally I love black cavendish, straight up or in a blend. It's fundamental to mixtures that I favour.

Smoked a big ol' bowl of Black Spice (probably Lane BCA) with a cup of coffee this morning watching the sunrise down in the Hollow. I much prefer a smooth sweet smoke in the morning instead of a nicotine rush.
