Peterson 3 P's Perfect Plug Pipe Tobacco
    Peterson University Flake
Samuel Gawith Brown No.4 Aromatic Roll
    Samuel Gawith Skiff Mixture.

I think I found the perfect blend.
    but why not try more?
    Ordered this lot Saturday.
On this forum they are used a lot.
    All opinions truly welcomed.
I do appreciate and I am a fan of Latakia.
Aromatics do made life easier though. :)

Forgot to mention, went to Muriel's got my Kentucky nougat/Latakia blend and bought thick block???
    No manufacturer was mentioned.
This stuff is black, smells of liqurice, moist as Liqurice, too scared to try it without a drink lol.
Any ideas? The pigtail contained the same twisted leaves, though thinner.
Both need a knife to cut. A sharp knife.
I was too entralled to ask.
The way it's going with my tobacconist, there is danger .
I'm being groomed by her lol.
I'll be wearing a goat's head and be tied to a post next .
    If you're reading this Muriel, I'm Joking..................................ish

I haven't tried any on your list, but am especially curious about how the Peterson's Plug is. If you smoke a bowl, please let us know your thoughts.

    For Brad.
    Peterson Perfect Plug
It needs to be shaved thinly, dried for an hour, then rubbed.
What I've got from it is a huge nicotine hit, tolerable room note, no tongue bite. Loads of smoke. Two relights in a small meerschaum.
    Flavour is creamy/rich.
Don't know if the preparation is worth it, unless preparation/ritual is part of the fun.
Personally, this is another string to my bow and enjoy the anticipation of a good smoke.
    I'm liking it.

I don't mind preparation at all. I have "load & go" tobacco and "needs prep" tobacco. If I'm at my desk, I don't mind setting something out to dry after rubbing it out. The nic hit though... don't deal with nic past medium well. Thanks for the review!

University Flake is one of my new favorites this year.
Haven't tried the Perfect Plug yet, but I have a tin aging anyway.
SG Skiff - I like it. Its like a lighter version of Squadron Leader I guess.
Samuel Gawith Brown No.4 Aromatic Roll - no idea. Let us know how that one goes.

    Dunlibi,

    I'm almost through a plug of 3P.
    Similar to Erinmore without as
    much "juicy fruit" flavour.

University flake is a good flake, but
it's just middle of the road for me.

    I have some Brown No. 4, but I don't
    think it's the aromatic.. ?? Haven't
    popped open the tin yet.

Haven't tried Skiff, but I've heard
it's like SL but with more Latakia
    than SL. Enjoy, nonetheless!

    Thanks for the responses everyone.
Brown No 4 looks like a dog turd, no escaping the comparison lol
I tried smoking it by slicing it and directly smoking. Plenty of re-lights and I'm wondering if its worth the effort. Taste was bland, Moira said it smelt how it looks. Looked at tobacco reviews and the recommendation is dry it out unsliced for a long period, maybe too much bother but since I have it I'll try that theory out.
Jeff, as you mention, Skiff is milder than SL, still pleasant and familiar though.
University flake I like, I followed advice from this forum and let it dry rubbed out for an hour. Delicious.
Snake, I'm enjoying the 3P the more bowls I have of it. I may move to the bigger bowled Peterson I have. An evening smoke, after dinner.
BTW the black liquorice thing. It's not liquorice. (and I've learned how to spell it correctly)

I have had and like the 2 Peterson's.
Never had either SG, but Skiff sounds like 1 I need to add to my TAD list.
