1st of the month! Bought some bulk Peter stokkebye tobacco and a tin of frog Morton (never tried it before). The question I have , is what is the ideal volume of jar to hold 16oz of ribbon cut bulk tobacco?

I've used 4 pint size mason jars to fit a pound of tobacco.

You can probably cram 10 oz into one 16 oz jar, but you'll need at least one 16 oz jar and one 8 oz jar to fit it all.

I try to pack it as tight as I can. But that's is just me. I'd go for a quart jar.

Quart jars would be sweet and that would be more than enough to fit a lb of baccy. Good call, Capt!

Once that large jar is finally opened the aging stops.....with the smaller jars I only stop the aging on the amount I'm going to be smoking.

Interesting! I have never heard that before. Can you explain why or how it stops?
