Peterson rules.

Aran, Donegal, Irish Army, Sherlock Holmes, St. Paddy Day, and System series pipes are awesome pipes.

#05, #87, #99, #101, #106, #408, #XL02, and #XL307 shapes/styles pipes are great smokers.

Irish Oak, Old Dublin, and University Flake blends are all manna from heaven.

(The only flies in Pete's ointment are any of the glossy-finished pipes. I've just heard too many horror stories about the finish bubbling off. Ditto on some of their red or green stained pipes. Stick with their flat, matte, sand blasted, or rusticated pipes, and you can't go wrong.)

I agreed with you on the finishing bubbling off... My Fermoy get some bubble on the finishing. At 1st, it is just one small dot but it get large the more you smoke it. Well... I get to return the pipe and return on other line of pipe.

Overall, Peterson produce very great pipe. I have a lot of Peterson pipe, mostly their System Pipe.
I have Standard System 313 Rustic & Smooth, 314 Rustic, 312 Smooth, 305 Rustic, 302 Smooth... Fremoy 120, Dracula X105, Tankard Rustic & Smooth...
Always dream to own a Spigot... but the price is way too expensive...
I only like Peterson pipe with a Army Style Stem.... :P

@bubbagump : Is there a particular finish 80s you are looking for? If so, I'll stay on the lookout for you (with a FT bit, of course).

I am trying to hold off PAD for a while, but when I let it beat me down again I am going to find a 301 standard.

When I first went out to buy the 80s, the online store advertised it as a fishtail bit ( one like the above photo..note saddleback), when I got to the store to pick it up they only had one last piece ...Aran 80s with p-lip and saddle...
I bought it, and to my surprise liked more than I expected. Since then I have decided..any Pete I get is going to have a p-lip!:)
