You must have been hiding in the closet and smoking that new meerschaum before Christmas.
I do hope y'er wearin' some clothes.....
I'm not in the closet Herb. No, wait that didn't sound right.
Yup Ed I have socks on.
That's a great story. Thanks.
Wearin' 1.5 pairs right?
I started at an early age...
Ooops - I'll try this again...
Love them footies! Ya still gotta pair?
Sure beat me! I was about 9 when i was smokin' the smoke from cap pistols and lighting the ends of dried reeds and smokin them! You went right to a briar! Hats Off to you! 14 was my first pipe a cob and a pouch of otc leaf all for $0.75... Those were the days!
Dang, you must be as old as me.
Myself smoking Calypso out of Medico Rogue briar.
A little GBD pot.
That sure is a mans pipe.
Setting up the garage for some Winter smokes. Still working on it. The new/basic workbench isn't in the photo.
Sometimes I hate that I cant see half these pics at work....
That sure is a cozy burner Rover! Wish I had one of those.
I've been trying to find a pair in a 46 short... I wish I could read the brand of tobacco on the pouch.
I remember being around 9 or 10 and having a sort of fort in the back yard. A friend of mine, who's dad also was a pipe smoker, and I pondered the making of tobacco and forumulated our own brand made from dead leaves, naming the fort "Ye Olde Tobacco Shop" - I had a corn cob pipe my parents had bought for me to play with (to keep my hands off my dad's briars I assume) and we tried our concoction. It was a long way from the SWR that my dad smoked.
Times have sure changed. I look back to the world of smoking in the sixties (that pic was probably about 1965) and it's hard to imagine parents giving their kid his own corn cob pipe or letting him play with his dads pipe in the 21st century. That could have something to do with my love of pipes though...
I think that's a pouch of half & half.
My girls love to play with my pipes, help me pick what tobacco to smoke next, and before it closed, they used to accompany me to With Pipe and Book, where we would stay for hours, looking around, playing with the owners dogs and generally just have fun.
I'm just waiting for social services to show up at the door to investigate......
Yep, looks like H&H to me too.
