I had one of those rare moments of pipe smoking bliss. Cracked open my first tin of Christmas Cheer. Everything came together perfectly. Perfect amount of drying time, perfectly loaded and a perfect burn down to ash and a little bit of dottle. No heat and no moisture in the bottom of the bowl. This is a rarity for me in my relative pipe smoking infancy. Its the rare smokes like these that keep me persevering through the lackluster ones. Thanks for listening gents.

It was really good. Nice straight Virginia. I love the sweet and sour interplay that exists in McClelland's Virginia blends. It burned cool and dry for me. That said I think that it will only get better from being aired out for a little bit.

I'm having one of those moments right now. Smoking some BBF in my IMP. I've smoked this stuff a few times before and love it, but tonight it appears that I got the bowl packed just right and now this stuff is a pure smokegasm. :drly:

I had a "perfect" smoke in a yello bole pug (ugly little nosewarmer) burning MacB's Navy Flake the other day... surprised me that it wasn't in a meer or other "better" pipe. Good to hear that others are still having them and that it isn't as rare as I have heard! :)

Very true! I remember the first smoke where I was hit with WOW! That's a good smoke.
It was my first smoke of HH Vintage Syrian. It was completely different than anything I had smoked at the time.

the first wow smoke i ever had was with condor, although i was floored by nicotine i was like wow ive never been so at peace and tranquil for years, although i still have the odd lacklustre smoke the wow ones are a far more common occurance.
My ultimate wow smoke is louisiana flake in my falcon, the relaxation is almost other world like.

I remember my first one well. I was working on a friends sailboat and smoking GH Best Brown #2 in a Peterson 606. Congratulations on yours and hope there are many more to come.

It was the 2011 as well. Definitely will be buying more if I can find it. Pipestud seems to have some available sporadically.

McC Christmas Cheer is the only one I have tried.
I wanted to pick up a tin of the Peterson's Holiday Season this year, but it sold out before I could place an order.
