Reusing something from the past as a pipe travel case

I used to be a cigar smoker and had an old Otterbox cigar travel humidor. I haven't smoked cigars in years and now that I have some pipes, I thought it might be good for this. I still have some things to iron out but I thought I would go ahead and share.

The one problem I have is that the foam between the two areas is not sturdy enough. I'm hoping I can find something to give it a bit better of a base to lay flat. Other than that, it works pretty well and can fit in my backpack quite easily.

That's a great idea! I've got a small aluminum ZERO Haliburton case that used to house something else. It would be perfect for half a dozen pipes and a few tins. Thanks for the idea.

No problem man. Hope it works out for you. I'll keep this up to date as I figure out how I'm going to reinforce the middle section.

Most Walmarts sell a pistol case for 20 and less, its a Plano with removable foam, get one of those, and use the foam from inside of it, unless you might have some foam rubber laying around or easy access, Also if you have a Michaeals Hobby store anyplace, you can probably buy enough for less than a pistol case to make it a easy job
