So recently I noticed a new entry in the "favorites" lineup from Savinelli - Ginger's Favorite.

Like the other favorites, just shy of churchwarden length, but longer than your average billiard. Sleek, stylish. I love the stems on these, and think the only way they could really look much better would be with a nice little band.

But I'm confused - prices at SP and P&C often vary a little bit, but in this case SP want's DOUBLE what P&C is asking.

At smokingpipes, rusticated Ginger's Favorites go for 204 dollars, and smooth go for 255.
At pipes and cigars, they are 96.99 and 119.99 respectively.

So I just sent this email to SP asking about it:
Hopefully I'll get a response in a day or two. If so, I'll make sure to share it with you guys.

So what do you think of these? I think they're better looking than either the Bings or Clarks, though I do really like the Bing's Favorite in the Punto Oro finish!

I saw these at SP, but gave up when I saw the price. Maybe there is hope yet, I look forward to seeing their response.

As always, for some reason you will need to add an "s" after "pipe". Don't know why, but the url is automatically changed by the forum.

Either SP is vastly overcharging for these pipes, or P&C is undercharging. I think SP is overcharging, most likely, because while they're good looking pipes the price doesn't fit for the "favorites" line.

Well, no issues were addressed other than price, but I did get a response already!

So they are still slightly more expensive than they are at pipes and cigars, but not by much at all :th1:

I really like those, they're both great looking but that smooth is sweet!

Buckshot: I think so, because I seem to recall them loading only a couple the first time I noticed them, and then them being out of stock on the item. I may be remembering incorrectly.

Wonder if they'll issue a refund or pretend like it never happened

Not sure, but it's good to see the situation rectified.

Personally, if it were my business, I wouldn't necessarily refund the money, but issue store credit for the difference. If they spent over 200 bucks on one of these, they were obviously already fine with spending the money there - having the store credit would be a pleasant surprise, and it wouldn't mean the company would lose the income.

Of course, I don't know how it will actually play out. Just speculating here

The pipes could have been bought in the store at the regular price and then taken out of inventory. I think it was just a data entry error when they put it online.

Pretty nice finish -- I don't see myself owning one, but I think it's a good offering from Sav.

I was just browsing Savinellis on smoking pipes. com, and it appears that all Savinelli prices have been raised about 20% . ymmv

I noticed that too, and it's across the board. It's unfortunate, but these things happen occasionally.
