The local B&M actually had a couple tins of it, so I bought one. I've always wanted to try it based on all the rave reviews here. I've smoked about 6 bowls of it so far. It's good. I'm not a huge latakia fan. I definitely like it now and then as a change of pace, and Squadron Leader is the style I like the most. I like it more subdued as a condiment instead of as the single, monolithic flavor.

Squadron Leader reminds me a lot of Presbyterian Mixture. I like those tangy types of mild English blends. After a few bowls, I noticed some very nice complexities and flavors that also make it different though. I'm glad I get to try a tin. It's a good smoke. I'm not sure I am desperate to stock up on large quantities at the price and availability though. For my tastes and preferences, there are others that are close enough in flavor, cheaper and actually available on a regular basis.

Wow, that is a gouge price. Wait till they do another run, should be under 10 bucks, then buy a few. It is my favorite English. Solent is stronger but much more available.

    Cheers, Len S
