I have only one flake of Stonehaven left.:(

I'll likely never be able to find amymore of it. Any suggestions for a replacement?

Sure, Germains Rich Dark Flake. Get yourself a pal in the UK and you can have all you want, or in my case, what little I can afford.

The description of RDF: A great medium to strong dark flake made using a combination of Virginia, Turkish, Oriental and Latakia air and fire cured tobaccos.
Stonehaven has none of the turkish, oriental or latakia. How is this a good substitute? just curious

RDF = Stonehaven, period. Don't mind that gibberish.

I just did an online search and it looks like £103.00 ($162.00 Amurican) for 500g. I can roughly get the same amount for $60 at my b&m.
£10.55 ($16.69) for 1.7 oz (50g), if you want to get a smaller amount.

Pfft, give it up. We know all about the fabled Bergeron Gold.

As to a Stonehaven substitute, I'd sure love to know too, because I haven't found anything else like it yet.
And it's damned good. IMO, between Stonehaven and Penzance (the mysterious and unavailable Esoterica twins), Stonehaven is the real jewel.

You can still find Stonehaven, just gotta look in B&M's instead of online

Tilbury by Esoterica is supposidly a milder version of Stonehaven. I haven't smoked Stonehaven (can't find anywhere on line). Tilbury is a mild smoke that is a shag cut. I don't get much flavor, but I never get tongue bite. Once lit you can smoke it without thinking all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I'm smoking it in a cob as I type.

I've smoked a few pounds of Stonehaven but not any RDF. My company has an office in London and hope to visit in the future. When I do, it's on my list of things to get.

I've had Tilbury and thought it was a great smoke but not Stonehaveny IMO.

RDF has no latakia or orientals as far as I can tell. Not sure where that came from. +1 on what Old Ted said - to me, McQuaid Square Cut is similar to RDF but without the Burley component.
