So I've been smoking a pipe casually (4-5 oz/year) for a few years now but all the options for tobaccos are overwhelming so I've stuck mostly to the same tobaccos the whole time.

If I told you I'm a fan of Boswell's Northwoods and Countryside, as well as just about any Boswell's aromatic, could any old timers here give me suggestions for some mass produced tins (Peterson, McClellan's, G.L. Pease, etc.) you think I'd like?

I also am a fan of Boswell's aromatics when I smoke the occasional aro. I really like Mac Barren's Plumcake, it has a touch of latakia. For natural sweetness you may want to try Virginias. I prefer the Mc. Clellan blends. For a bulk, #5100 Red Cake has a great following and many others.

How about Engish blends similar to Northwoods? It's a Latakia heavy blend w/ a woodsy room note. I love it for an outdoor smoke but for the sake of my relationship and keeping the peace I stick to aromatics for indoors.

English I'd say G.L. Pease Chelsea Morning, McClelland Nocturne, if u like no nonsense, try Seattle Pipe Club's Mississippi Mud. Big tins (8oz) I have only one & that's Key Largo. I get my pipe & stogie fix in one smash. It's an English w. Cigar wrapper leaf in it & it is guuuuud! I am a big fan of McClelland, C&D, & GL Pease myself. Explore those brands then read the different descriptions. If u lean towards sweet, & like a mellow creamy flavor, but NOT aromatic, but sweet & creamy nonetheless, try a good balkan like Larry's Woods. I do balkans in my meer. I enjoy virginias in a cob, & everything else in between in a briar. va/pers are good in a cob. (they're good in anything, but that's how I like em)
