I got the shakes and went to place a small order, you know, just to take the edge off, but once I got started I just couldn't seem to make myself stop...it was like every tobacco I'd meant to try over the last month or two just wound up in my basket, and then of course they just TAUNT you with that "$5.95 more and you could have free shipping!" and never mind that shipping is only $3.95, you gotta' spend money to make it, right? RIGHT??

So now I'm sitting here, hanging my head in shame. But it'll all be worth it when that super smelly box comes in (my co-workers always comment about how my parcels are the only ones that actually full-on smell) and I can crack it open to begin smoking away. And I got some stuff I've been meaning to stock up on, and this is my only hobby anymore, and my birthday is coming up so this is an early birthday present to myself, and I'll just bring lunch from home for the next 12 work-days so I won't miss the money at all, really, and maybe if I skip those afternoon runs for a cup of coffee I can speed that process up a bit.

Any other justifications I can make so that I won't keep having buyer's remorse? Oh yeah...if I don't like it, I can always trade it! I forgot that one, learned it right here on PSF...

I have pretty much narrowed the tobaccos I love down to a manageable group. I'll still get ones I haven't tried from time to time, but most of my acquisitions from here on in will just be bulking out those blends.

I follow a very strict budget of $20 per month on Tobacco.

And according to my mint.com account, I'm currently $179 over Tobacco budget the past 60 days.
Meh. If things go south I could always sell it.

Yeah yeah I know, but I didn't get the package yet so I can't post pics...but I got some bulk FVF, a couple 100g tins of some H&H Anni kake and Burley kake, 8oz of Pirate kake, 100g of Solani Silver flake, 2 oz BB2, 2 oz GH Louisiana Perique flake, 2 pouches of PA, a pouch of M79 (shut up), 2 pouches of Cherry Blend, and a pouch of Velvet. Oh yeah and a pouch of Middleton's Apple, because it haunts me.

Actually looking at the list I think it would make a very nice picture...if I was gonna' be on my own Hoarder's episode.

My TAD cannot exceed $70 per month, and that includes S&H. Other than that, it's rock-n-roll. PAD, shmad.

The M79 is forgiven. The rest wants me to put an express
    order at my supplier... :th1:

But...but they have free shipping if you just add another $30 to that, and that's saving money right there.

By sheer coincidence and nothing else at all I swear to God, this is the same logic I am continually confronted with when I get the credit card statement every month and my S.O. explains why it is that we needed more shoes.

Excellent logic, and if I had the means to budget $100 a month that is exactly how I'd justify it if I was interested in justifying anything. The best logic is "I wanted it, I could afford it, so I damn-well ordered it. Now woman go fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers". (I have a lot of success with that approach, really). I'm the man around here, and I'll do as I damn-well please. And I'm not scared to say it, either.

Just a minute, the wife is telling me what pair of pants I can wear around the house tomorrow... she's even gonna let me iron them, too. Damn skippy, woman - that's right, the blue ones!

Hey ATX, I think you covered most of the excuses -- um -- reasons.

It's my only vice -- er -- hobby. I don't drink or chase women. It's cheaper than a trip to Vegas. I don't gamble. It's an -- ah -- investment. It's much cheaper than a boat. I can take my lunch -- and the bus.

No worries. You did good. :thu2:
