I agree, This is the best way to enjoy the "flavor" of a good smoke

I finally achieved a full snork. However I noticed no real difference in flavor. Are there certain blends that a snork would work best with?

"Best" is probably not a word that applies here. But there are blends where the snork is more noticeably different than with other blends. And I'm sure a lot of that depends on your body chemistry (nasal chemistry?) and your sensitivity, as well. There are some latakia/oriental blends I've smoked that the latakia stands out more or is smokier when exhaled through my nose. There are Virginia/Burley blends where the citrus of the Va stood out more in the nose. And I've noticed that blends described as having chocolate/cocoa notes are often more chocolatey in the snork than in the mouth taste. Sorry I can't think of blend names to give you as examples - I snork as a matter of habit and don't really pay attention. Instead, I'll just urge you to keep snorking and be assured you'll run into blends where the snork holds some delightful surprises!

I have always snorked... just didn't know it had a name. The best flavor for me is to take a ventilated puff (lots of air) with an open mouth, then snork.

Lat blends really get me. I taste nothing but salt in the mouth, but something like dark chocolate/sweetness in the nose.

Just a mild suggestion.. but do not try snorking when one has a head cold..... when you sneeze you have the appearance of some sort of Sci-Fi dragon that tends to cause those around you to flee while screaming. Trust me.. it is not good.:snork:

Yes, snorking has become habitual for me because of this thread.

I find some tobaccos are almost a bit harder to push through your nose.

I just read a bunch of this thread and finally realized I've been snorking when I thought I was Frenching. No wonder my wife has been cranky of late! :xd:

SWR... I don't think there were any different flavors that showed up when I exhaled out my nose, but I was mostly tasting cedar and that was amplified for sure.

You got no snork, you got nothing. Noses are made to be broken. :D

I just read this entire thread. I have smoked pipes on and off for over 50 years and I am sad to admit I have never "snorked". I have years ago when I smoked cigarettes but never with a pipe or cigar. I really want to try it but alas I have developed an upper respiratory problem and haven't had a bowl since Friday and won't until I can take a deep breath without coughing. Wouldn't you know as I typed my order of Golden Extra and London Blend just came.:(

Oh well I'll try it when I can.

That sucks. I have been having nose problems for around last 20 years. Eventually it got so bad that I was unable to breathe through it and had to visit a doctor couple months ago. He took one look and sent me straight to the surgeon to avoid further complications. Surgery + meds = amazing! Not only can I breathe and sleep like a normal person now, but I can smell so much stuff it's awesome. Also the snorking went up to a whole new level, allowing me to enjoy pipes so much more.

Nice dude. I've barely been able to breath through my nose since before I can remember. I gotta get that surgery.
