Sorry if this has been posted, i couldn't find it.

I'm stuck at work and had a package of tobacco dropped off today at noon. The day is ungodly hot, like high 90s and sometimes the UPS guy has left the package out in the sun if it didn't fit in the box, othertimes in the shade on my stoop.

The question is whether such heat for 5-6 hours can damage tobacco tins that are sealed?

    Thanks in advance

I live in the south so I know what you mean, but like jpberg I don't think so.

I'm joining the chorus...for a few hours, I wouldn't worry. Long term, or a ridiculously hot temp. would be more disconcerting.

I'm in AZ, so warmth is not unknown hereabouts. I have had trouble with badly sealed S. Gawith bulk boxes, but never with tins.

Once I forgot a zip-lock bag with tobacco on my car's dashboard. On sunny side. For 9 hours. The tobacco became softer (after cooling it down) and mellow. Now I do it on purpose.

There's something to this. I have heard some say that to age tobacco very quickly ... put it on your dashboard, in the sun, for a time.

I have not tried this yet. Maybe someone else has.
