Once again I have experienced true love at the first light. I must speak of it but I can't call this a real review, just the ramblings of an old pipe smoker waxing over a new found delight. Pirate Kake, smoke of the gods. Valhalla has nothing better, I'm sure. I like strong English blends such as 10 Russians and Capt's Earle's Private Stock but I think Pirate Kake is my favourite of the crumble kakes I've tried so far. Yossarian gave me this. I was thrilled when I got it and decided to wait until a good night to try it the first time. Most glad I did. It's worth the proper mind set, esp. the first time. It is everything I want in this kind of tobacco. The Kake crumbles nicely, no problem removing what I want from the block. I love playing with the stuff, checking out the different textures and colours. Being a lat lover that recently learned to love burley, Pirate Kake pushes all my good buttons. The block I'm working on required no drying time and smoked right to the bottom of the bowl leaving nothing but ash. The burley gives strength to the campfire smokieness that I love in Latakia and the orientals give nuaces to the main flavours. Verily, I love this stuff. Like it more each time I smoke it.
