Tonight I'm smoking some Nightcap in one of my newest pipes, a 1955 GBD pot with a military mount.

This has quickly become one of my favorite pipes...

Does anybody else have a military mount they want to show off???

The most beautiful military mount pipe I ever owned was a GBD. It was marked "Mounted" and it didn't have the best grain but they showed off what it had with this gorgeous plum finish. The stem was the same color and the silver offset it beautifully. The pipe came in a nice presentation box, like a meerschaum. Gorgeous pipe. Long gone, though.

Nothing to show off - your thread just made me a little wistful. :D

Wow, that GBD is outstanding, I can see why it could become a favorite.

Just one military stem on my rack, and not really even there yet. A Ferndown Tudor Root that is currently wrapped and waiting under our Christmas tree...
It was an estate and needed a little buff/shine before the wife grabbed and stashed it. This is my first military stemmed pipe/spigot and I'm very impressed with Mr. Woods silverwork.

This GBD Silver Spigot ended Sunday at $70. I was very tempted and the only thing that gave me pause was it is a post-Cadogan era pipe (1985)
This was the first military stemmed GBD I've seen in a long time on Ebay. Probably should have bought it....

It looks like you will be having a very nice Christmas. Love the look of that pipe!

The GBD looks an awful lot like the one that dmkerr described earlier.

Gunslinger, it took every single ounce of self-control not to jump on that Pete after clicking the link.

It looks to have the right hallmark to be an 1984. Hope you can win it!

Great thread! I am totally a sucker for army mounts, spigots, etc. It took me years of looking to find a good condition old Pete Barrel
and a brace of Kaywoodie army mounts. The WDC (middlle, atop the Navy Flake tin) is my absolute A#1 go-to flake pipe.

The Pete POY (bottom) is the biggest, ugliest pipe I own but I saw all the silver and, you know - HAD to have it.

My Pete barrel is similar to the one photographed in three pipe photo, bottom. I love it!

I'm going to have a Ferndown Les Wood Spigot one day! It is high on my list of must haves.

I had a few Pete Silver Spigots through the years, one was a particularly lovely sandblasted billiard ( I think Bri2k has it now, can't remember).

I think this is the only military I now have.

I'm a huge fan of the military mount, I have ten briar pipes now and only two don't have the military mount. Pete systems are by far my favorite pipes but I haven't tried a spigot yet
