Oliva Maduro with a house band on it from Timba's Cigars in Columbus, OH
Cheap ain't always bad ;-)
Had a Villiger Export natural today on my way to work, they are just long enough for my short ride. Not bad for about a buck a stick.
Bolivar Royal Corona. No picture because I'm too lazy and it's dark outside. Tastes like bread and honey.
Having some corn moonshine on the side. One of my buddies came down from the mountains today with a case of it, and it's from a great batch. Smooth as glass and warms the bones on this 20F night here. When the normal night time low is above freezing, 20F can feel kinda chilly since the body isn't acclimated to it. Man I miss having constant access to this liquor. You really can't get anything even remotely like it in a store.
A rustic lookin' cigar from the Republic o' Nicaragua with a hoppy amber from the Republic o' Cleveland
I'm going to fire up a La Bomba Warhead in about an hour or so
Not sure. After I finish this pipe I'll be going for one of the following:
All winners there, but the PAM '26 is looking mighty nice out the bunch
The comforts of home: homemade "sugar pecans" and a pretty decent cigar.
Since you're in Alabama, I've got to ask.
Pee-cans or puh-cons? Or pee-cons?
Celebratory end-of-the-semester cigar. Ashton Heritage Puro Sol churchill
This cigar is as good as I remember.
Tried a Black Crown today. I think I smoked it too soon from the B&M, kind of dry and unimpressive. I'll let the other one rest for a couple of months before sacrificing it to the Gods.
Black crowns are good. Give it time. If they were improperly stored at the shop it may take a long time to bring it back. Luckily you know the cigar wasn't stored badly for more than a year, because black crowns are only about that old. If the shop stored them under 60% for a long time they may dud on you completely. If so, let me know and I can send you some.
Even though he's from Texas, he's right. We say it puh-KAHNZ, or [pə'kanz]. Pee-KANZ, or [pi'kænz], is incorrect, and gives you away immediately.
See that IPA? That's what you get from linguistics studies. Useful stuff.
Had another of those Oliva/Timbo's Maduro's earlier. Was gonna be my wood-splitting smoke.
Wrapper was in splinters in no time.
Tried to recut and destroyed what remained.
Was tasty while it lasted.
And storage issues are my fault...probably.
I dunno man. That mountain weather can be fickle. Or rather, it is fickle. I know this from personal experience. And you have that ultra-dry air to contend with on top of the temperature swings. No, I say blame it on the mountains.
OK folks, gotta make a decision here. Smoke one of my cigars or go to the B&M, that is the question. Been wanting to sit down and have story-telling time (read: telling enormous bull**** lies) with the proprietor for awhile now. But would have to spend money (maybe). Hmmm.
Neither. Stay in the house. It is -20 outside.
I'm not making this **** up:
