Come on guys. Stop living in the past.
Oliva V Melanio #4 to kick off the year right.
Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
Not round these parts...
Illusione Epernay Lonsdale after a New Year's morning hike.
Monte Cristo #4 Petite Corona, (how'd I do?)
That sounds lovely.
Haven't had that vitola, yet ;-)
It was my first, picked it up on the recommendation of an employee at Palm Desert Tobacco. I need to grab a few more before I go home, and look at some of their beautiful pipes again too.
Still in the past here - Hemingway Signature on a dog walk. Nice.
I haven't smoked very much at all in the past several days - I was staying with my family in Ohio for Christmas. I had enough of that and had to come back home today for a few days before returning to get my brother, who attends the same university as I but will be coming back to town later than me.
So anyway, I had a Parodi as my first smoke in a couple days in the car on the way home, let alone the first smoke of the year. It was unsatisfying, but at that price point you can't expect them to all be winners...it was just an issue with a lousy draw, which happens with them once in a while. At least it tasted good.
To make it up to myself, though, I'm now at my home in my recliner watching what I want on my television and smoking a giant cigar...indoors, at that.
To make a long story short, Opus X - Double Corona. Awesome smoke...not worth the money I paid, but nonetheless sublime
Oh man...what a smoke....I posted that over an hour and a half ago, and I still can keep smoking this for a bit before I risk burning my fingers...I might just do that....
%$#@# Twirly & his Opus' & balmy palms /\
CaKy & his Olivas & minus 18 wind chill...by the Buck Stove.
Good morning, DarkSiders.
You make me feel so dirty.
It was me and a Hemingway Signature this past weekend. They are perfect for loading the truck and taking a load of trash for a slow ride to the dump with a couple of stops on the way back.
Would a Don Carlos #2 work Moo?
I gotta go to the dump today.
Let me think... That would be an upgrade but, realistically, California dumps are probably an upgrade over Carolina dumps. You are in the right ballpark, especially if your drive to/from is more than one hour, if you want my opinion.
If this gets traction we can start a "The cigar I smoked at the dump" thread + pictures. Dumps can be very interesting pictorial opportunities for the rural of us.
I had an Olivia NUB Connecticut today. Nice shorter smoke in the cold weather that hit Ohio. This thing had a lot of flavor. Bought a box of them off one of the auction sites so I will let
the remainder age awhile, maybe.
Slummin it. Leoninos Corojito. Cheap. Not great. But smokeable. Despite these being a bit more medium bodied, I'm excited for the Principes, which I think have generally better flavor.
Wish it would warm up so I could join you guys...haven't had a smoke this year
Oh quit being such a puss. It hasn't been that cold. Buy a scarf and a hat and suck it up, boy!
Today (well yesterday, January 9th) was my birthday. Had a couple of great smokes. This one was a gift from my buddy who runs the B&M. It's the Opus X Petite Lancero, and it is the best regular Opus I've ever smoked by a country mile. Phenomenal cigar.
And this one was one I've been saving. It was absolutely amaaaaazing. I will be buying more of these, whether my wallet likes it or not.
Both of those were a major hit. This Davidoff thing could be really, seriously dangerous. And here's some blasphemy: I would rather have that Davidoff (and a couple other white label Davidoffs) than most Padron Anny Series sticks. Yeah, I said it.
Single digits? No thanks!
Happy Birthday my man
