Friend is getting married on Saturday so my gift to him was to share some good cigars.

We each had one of the Padron and Opus and shared the culebra with a friend who was there as well.

The 2007 Partagas culebra was the best of the bunch, which says a lot.

Got into these in Italy a couple weeks ago...

And this one was on the Italian Riviera... and yes, I'm bragging.

Those are one of my most favorite cigars ever. That and the 2006 Bolivar Liberdatores France RE.

Padron Family Reserve! Droooolfest! What kind of crazy Partagas is that, by the way? Is that all one cigar, or what?

It's 3 cigars, just twisted. I believe it's around 30 dollars for it. Quite good. It's a culebra.

Damn. And I thought a 60-ring cigar was hard to smoke...

Took the grand-daughter to the park today, bottle of H2O and...YO DOC B.......the LAST of the Tat Black we split!!! I was thinking of putting the nub in a coffee grinder and either snorting it or put'n it in a pipe....then woke up and remembered why I got out of the LIMITED EDITION crap.

You pull it apart and split it 3 ways. They all had an excellent draw and was the best cigar of the three. Impressive how they can roll those and still them them draw that well.

Dropped by a b&m I havent been to yet and had a pipe, then I waltzed into the humidor and grabbed an Oliva Serie G aged Camaroon and proceeded to indulge... Excellent stick.

    Happy Friday, everyone!

Nice little stick. Milder than I normally go for, but you guys have been talking it up so I needed to try it. Really picks up and shines at just a little past the 1/3 mark.

    Glad you like it.
There seem to be a lot of "highly rated" cigars on the market these days that have a punch-you-in-the-mouth wrapper/binder over a "fluff" filler. I think those CAO's will always have a niche in my humidor, though I enjoy much more robust cigars as well.

Completely agree. That's in line with the trend in most consumer products, I think. More curb appeal, less substance. Most people don't seem to mind that their new product is crap, as long as it's shiny, from a high profile brand, and their friends will notice it immediately. That cigar is understated in a great way. The appearance is simple and attractive, the flavor is straightforward and good (kinda woody), and the burn is not fussy. I like it.

For reference and contrast, my favorite cigar is a Padron '26. Unfortunately, I can rarely afford my favorite cigar. :) But yeah, I have conflicting tastes with these sorts of things. I love a big, hoppy, punch-you-in-the-mouth double IPA, but I also love a nice, malty, English ale. All about balance.

    Having and Acid Wafe.

It's certainly different, and cutting it was an adventure.

It kinda smells like an old person, and feels really fragile to handle and smoke. Don't know of I'll get anymore.

Almost lit up a premium smoke, but instead I'm on to a Parodi King. Hard to beat em, really :)
