Thanks for the reviews, and for your consideration in adding my suggestion. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to try it.

Well I got the highly touted McConnell Scottish Cake and it was 4 star all the way.:th1:
Now if I can get a hold of some SG St. James Flake, I would be a happy camper.
Great thread! Thanks again!

I just have to bump this thread. I saw a recent post by slowtri, and it reminded me of this awesome bit of reviewing. This led me to try several of the blends I love today. Maybe some of our newbies (at least newer than this newbie) will find it interesting and helpful.

If I forgot to say it before, thanks for this thread, Slowtri.

God I love Scottish Cake. So good, so balanced....

I just tried the Davidoff Medallions yesterday, and I'm super impressed. Felt wet in the tin but lit and smoked perfect - just crunch and stuff and light. I could use a little more sweetness, but this tobacco should be considered as a major player in a Va/Per list.

I want to do an Escudo, Davidoff Medallions, and Dunhill Navy Rolls comparison.

Some people say that they are all the same thing. I need to get some Medallions and I'll give them all a whirl.

Toss PS Luxury Bullseye Flake into that mix. :D

I find Escudo and Dunhill Rolls very similar. Might even be the same thing....:cfsd:

Davidoff Medallions seem a bit sweeter than PS Bullseye to me. These both have cavendish in the center of the roll. Not sure if they are the same,,,,, doubt it.

Whatever they are they are all tops in my book......:th1:

Just a heads up......I have a new VaPer blend coming my way. It is the Sherlock Holmes Pipe Club VR Blend from pipesandcigars.com. This was recommended to me a while back but I'll post up a review after I have a few bowls.

I thought PS LBF was blended with a cavendish as well. Can we truly consider it a VaPer? In my rotation, I consider it a "something else." It is good, but I don't know that I'd rate it with other VaPers. Of course, that is only $0.02 - and for that you get what you pay for it.

One I don't see on your list - or your list to try - is GL Pease Haddo's Delight. I am curious, for in some circles this is the bar for all other VaPers. I've had it, it isn't bad, an enjoyable smoke. But, I'd like to see it in this comparison you've done.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Many folks don't consider it a true VaPer because of the added spirits.

Personally, I don't get too caught up in names. I like the blend. Don't smoke a lot of it but I always have some on hand.

This is a great thread, not sure how I missed it before.
I love VaPers and have smoked most of those named.

Given that Escudo was my first love it's hard to "bump" it, but GLPease Telegraph Hill is an incredible VaPer worth giving a shot (give it a little bit of dry time and it's a breeze).

I have an open tin of Scottish Cake right now that I've only smoked a couple of times.
So far it's seemed a bit muted to my leather tongue, but I'll plod through ;-)
