I like mixing Half and Half with anything, but my favorite is Tinderbox Wilshire (or 1Q).
A close second is H&H with Boswell's Vanilla Creme.
Another favorite is EMP with GAF (50/50).
OGS goes pretty well with SWRA (50/50)
Tonight I'm experimenting with Firedance Flake and Autumn Evening (50/50). Reminds me of blueberry pancakes.
Some may think I'm ruining good tobacco, or that's not how the blender intended it, but hey I paid for it, I can do what I want with it.

Hey Spill.. last week I pulled out the pint jar of that Dan's BBBB / Golden Burley mixture you came up with from the cellar and have been enjoying it.. its SOO tasty.. just saying. lol

Im enjoying a bowl of BCA and Nightcap, it gives nightcap a nice room note but still gives the strength of nightcap just a little smoother.

i havent tried this but the manager at the tobacconist i use hes going to help me make a blend, i like black cav, burley, perique and a bit of virginia.
so my recipe is going along the lines of this....
25g of black cavendish
15g of burley cavendish
5g of perique
5g of virginia

i have always tried mixing commercial blends looking for 'the one'--if i am lucky it is mediocre--usually it's bad to Bloody Awful--

a few days ago i may have gotten lucky--i had some Crowley's Best which i like, but consider to be just so-so--also some Mountain Camp which i really don't care for at all--

as i was reaching for Crowley's i had to move the Mountain Camp out of the way--AND I WONDERED??--would it?--ought i try it??- why not!!--

so i did a quick mix of a small quantity--equal parts of each--
tastes run all over the place, but for some reason i like it-- at least now i'll finally get that 4 oz. of Mountain Camp smoked up--who knows i may order another pound of each to make a good quantity of the new mix if i continue to enjoy it--that'll make the wife happy;)--think i'll call it Crowley's Camp--original huh??

if you like Burley, you might try a small amount and report back with your findings--but remember, you need to like burley, cause it's definitely 'BURLEY'--

now i need to see what can be done to kill the Virginia in that 4 oz. of Three Friars i have lounging in the cellar--

Hello everyone,

What a great thread this is. Here is my first foray into blending:

1 pouch SWRA
1 pouch Paladin Black Cherry (not bad by itself, but I found it a little weak)
about 1/4 oz. PA
about 1/4 oz. of a mild English mixture sold by my local B&M
about 1/4 oz of a cherry flavored mixture, also from the local B&M
a jigger of Myer's dark rum
a jigger of coffee liqueur (home-made from a neighbor)
a capful of vanilla extract.

I call it my Mongrel Mixture. It leaves a nice 'car note', and produces a type of cocoa flavor.

Here's a blend I made years back using bulk lane products .... from memory ... 5 parts bca , 1.5 part blwb , 2 part rlp6 , 1 part 1q , 1 part HGL [or something that began w/ H ] and 1 tin of erinmore[ depending on amount of blend ] ........... the blwb is what made it burn nice and the erinmore just rocked when diluted w/ the reast of the blend .I guess a full tin to a pound of blend +- . This was my biggest selling aromatic .... sounds like alot going on but was real nice to smoke and a killer aroma .......... Most smoke shops have lane bulks and these were all popular ones . I guess you could use a scale at shop and have .25 oz as a part . Just kick back the erinmore and let sit a week
Sounds like an interesting mixture. I'd like to give it a whirl. I still have my "legal for trade" digital scale, it measures to .05 oz. Pretty accurate. I also have all of the component tobaccos in my cellar.
Question: The Erinmore, I presume 50g flake, rubbed out?
The "H" tobacco...The only Lane tobaccos I can recall that have an H are HGL. It has Latakia. And HG-2000. It has no latakia. Do you recall if the H tobacco had Latakia? The two tobaccos are quite different, and would make a big difference in replicating the blend.

An inquiring mind wants to know!

Erinmore Mixture, I presume?
Yup ... mixture . You'll have to tweak the blend ... it's coming from my memory so it's not gonna be spot on but it should get you close and you can mess with it from there . It did need to sit for a while .... a day min , if youre in a hurry .. but 5 + days always seemed to be best ... in a cool dark place . I would make the sign of the cross over it and say a prayer to Saint Joseph ! I would imagine you wouldn't have to do that .. lol
